Kirsten Oswald MP has arranged for a golden glow to illuminate Barrhead Foundry tomorrow (September 1) to raise awareness of childhood cancer.
Barrhead Foundry will be one of a number of iconic buildings across the world to ‘Glow Gold’ in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Kirsten will also table an Early Day Motion in Parliament, in support of the Glow Gold campaign, and the parents group who have organised this initiative.
Kirsten commented: “I am very pleased to support the Glow Gold campaign, and I am grateful to East Renfrewshire Council for agreeing to light up Barrhead Foundry to help raise awareness of childhood cancer.
“If more parents were aware of the symptoms and early warnings of childhood cancer, treatment could begin earlier, bringing a higher success rate.
“Glow Gold September have done a marvellous job and I look forward to seeing buildings glowing gold across Scotland, and all round the world, this September.”
