£500 boost for Marie Curie

East Dunbartonshire's Provost Una Walker is pictured presenting a cheque for £500 to Marie Curie following a Daffodil Tea held at council HQ.

The cash was raised thanks to the support of council employees and councillors who attended the event, donated raffle prizes and homebaking.

Provost Walker said: “I was overwhelmed by the support this event received within the council and I am grateful to colleagues for ‘getting behind the daffodil’.

“Thanks to their generosity we were able to raise this excellent sum for a very worthy cause.” Marie Curie’s Fundraising Assistant Dionne Robertson accepted the cheque saying, “I am absolutely delighted to receive this donation. It will help Marie Curie care for people living with terminal illness in Glasgow and the surrounding areas, providing them and their families with quality nursing care and emotional support.”
