FIRST days at a new school can be a daunting experience – but the new intake at Bellahouston Academy are already well versed.
The southside school held its first freshers’ fair last week – a university-style event designed to familiarise first year pupils with the clubs and activities on offer.
Students from every other year group pitched in to welcome them, manning stalls and providing information for potential new club members.
Margaret Watt, deputy head teacher for pupil support, told The Extra: “The older pupils did a fantastic job, encouraging and informing our new S1s.
“There was a real buzz in the assembly hall and everyone had a great time – including the parents who had been invited along as well”.
