With the seven weeks of school holidays stretching out until August, those responsible for caring for youngsters can sometimes feel the pressure and pinch of planning activities everyday.

Worry not! From July 6-15 Queens Park Arena is here to help!

The team at Inhouse Events CIC and Queens Park Arena have planned activities to help pull the kids away from the computer and get them into the great outdoors and, even better – many of the activities are free!

After the success of Glasgow Games last year, this year’s event boasts music, movement and dance for all abilities and ages.

Some of the best in the business are being brought on board to get your bodies moving and booty’s shaking!

You can expect music, workshops, sporty screenings, hula hooping, street games, swingball, dancing, BBQ, competitions and much much more more!

Events kick off on Friday, July 6 with Glasgow’s Flying Jalapenos breakin’ crew’s 16th birthday – expect hip hop flavours, live graffiti and breakin battles for under 16’s and over 16’s. (Tickets £5).

For younger ones, Glasgow’s homegrown dance party for kids and parents – Mini Manoeuvres – takes place on Saturday, July 7. (Free, but booking required).

Miss Polly Hoops will be leading a free hula hooping workshop on Sunday, July 8 and Glasgow Open Dance school will be getting you moving in the morning with their Jahroblics class, and then give you the chance to show off your moves in the afternoon.

From Monday to Wednesday you can take part in free classes on dance, breakin’, and Brazilian Jiu jitsu. Then from Thursday to Sunday the swingball and street games will be out in full effect to accompany screenings of Wimbledon in the arena.

In the evening double bills of classic and inspiring sports movies will be shown on a big screen, Karate Kid, Battle of The Sexes, Chariots of Fire and Rocky being some of the highlights!

So all you need to do is figure out what you are doing the other five weeks of the holidays!
