ACTION Against Hearing Loss Scotland returns to Newton Mearns for the free drop-in hear to help clinic. Info on everything from hearing aids to coping with day-to-day tasks. 2-4pm in Mearns library.

GUIDED walk from Pollok country park to Pollok castle, taking place today from 10am-2pm. Please wear suitable clothing, and bring snacks. Return transport is provided. Free event, but booking is required on 276 0927.

HISTORY buffs welcome to a free event at Whitelee windfarm. Rangers tell tales of times gone by from 11am-1.30pm at the Eaglesham site.

FUN for ages 3-5 to the Glasgow Museums Resource Centre in Nitshill. Drive, pedal or sail around the stories behind the city’s transport collections for free from 1-2pm. To find out more, call 276 9300.

SUMMER fair held at Whole Foods market, in support of Cosgrove care. Buy plants for the growing season, or visit the Giffnock scouts book stall, between 10.30am and 3pm. Free event.

WALKING tour at the Burrell Collection. Get fit and learn more on this themed walk, suitable for ages 5+ (children must be accomanied by an adult). Free to join, from 2pm.

Tuesday, May 8

THEATRE at Eastwood park – this week in aid of Marie Curie. Quite Contrary Theatre Co present The Wizard of Oz, running until Saturday. Performance at 7.30pm (2.30pm Sat matinee) and tickets cost £10-£15.

Thursday, May 10

MEET with your Muslim neighbours at the Woodfarm education centre open community evening. 7-8pm in the Thornliebank facility. Free event with tea provided.
