Welcome return to Biggar for author Ian Rankin

AWARD winning novelist Ian Rankin made his return to Biggar as part of Independent Booksellers Week.Ian, author of the Rebus novels, was joined on stage at the Biggar Corn Exchange by good friend Richard Havers, for a discussion on the trials and tribulations of being a writer.

And the informal nature of the event, entitled Rock and Writing, made it an event to remember for the audience.

Chris McCosh, from Atkinson-Pryce Books, organised the event.

She said: “I was very pleased with the turnout and everyone who came along enjoyed themselves. Ian and Richard talked about various influences as well as their first steps in becoming a writer.

“Ian also talked about the different stages in writing a novel. It was very entertaining as well as interesting.

“Both talked about their love of music and how it had influenced them.
