ALTHOUGH often thought of as Christmas fare, this week sees the return of the traditional summer pantomime — complete with a trip doon the watter.
The latest show at Òran Mór’s A Play, a Pie and a Pint slot is Goldilocks and the Glasgow Fair, a madcap trip to Largs aboard the Waverley paddle steamer.
Celebrate the shows of yesteryear, complete with a drunken children’s entertainer, a dixie jazz band, a big society arts charity, your granny and of course, the three bears.
It’s a trip down memory lane and a sly comment on the effect of today’s politics on the arts — but with laughs to entertain.
And while it isn’t a poke of chips, the ticket price includes a picnic of a cold drink and a stodgy snack — making it feel more like a day away with the family than ever.
Goldilocks and the Glasgow Fair runs Monday to Saturday until July 23. Performance at 1pm, and tickets start at £8, available from 357 6200.
