Motorcycle display team The Imps at Leadhills Gala

THE tranquil surroundings of Leadhills will be transformed as a world-famous motorcycle display team entertain at the village Gala Day.

The Imps Motorcycle Display team have entertained and amazed crowds for the past 40 years including at last year’s Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

But on August 9 the team will be travelling to Leadhills to wow the crowds at the Gala Day.

Leadhills Gala secretary Charlotte Paul said: “One of our committee members suggested that we have a motorcycle stunt display team at the Gala Day.

“Unfortunately the Imps were originally a bit out of our price range.

“We had a number of emails back and forward and as they were in Inverness two days before I invited them to stop off at the Gala for some coffee and cakes.

“After a few emails back and forth we managed to work something out.

“It’s taken a lot of organising but we are absolutely delighted to have them.”
