Local models took to the catwalk at The Avenue in support of Prostate Cancer UK

The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns was at the centre of all things fashion last month as it played host to The Avenue's Autumn Winter 2018 Fashion Show on Saturday, September 29.

Shoppers picked up tips on the best season trends as the catwalk shows were styled by Maria Barnett from Scottish Woman Magazine.

The three catwalk shows hosted by Radio Clyde’s Gina McKie featured ladies, gents and childrenswear, introducing the best new fashion arrivals from The Avenue stores.

If you were there you may have recognised many of the models as locals and staff from around the shopping centre.

The Avenue supported Prostate Cancer UK on the day raising awareness with their information stand in centre and talks from charity representatives on stage at the beginning of each catwalk show. Joan Robertson from The Spa at The Avenue and founder of JL Formulations skincare also took to the stage to share her skincare tips with the crowd, plus one lucky winner received a JL Formulations product at each show.

Michelle McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue said: “Our three catwalk shows were a great opportunity for all the family to get set for Autumn Winter 2018 with the best fashion examples from our stores here at The Avenue. Many stores offered exclusive offers and we hope our shoppers enjoyed taking advantage of these.”

“We not only hosted this fashion show to highlight the broad range of fashion we have available here at The Avenue, from nationals and independents, but also to support Prostate Cancer UK, the men going through it and their families who support them. We thank our shoppers who donated on the day, whether it was by taking part in the charity tombola in which many of our stores provided prizes or if you simply donated.”
