IT’S looking like the only way is up for young singer Lianna La Havas.
Not only has she appeared on Jools Holland’s star-making Later... exactly a year ago this month, but her record, Is Your Love Big Enough, has been named by BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe as his Hottest Record in the World.
A lot of pressure on Lianne’s young shoulders, you might think, but the young songstress is far too busy with her career to trouble herself with such things.
She is currently about to begin a UK tour which will kick off in Glasgow tomorrow night at the O2 ABC.
Lianne is only 22 but she already has two critically-acclaimed EPs under her belt and a truly memorable performance at the Apple Cart Festival.
Things are certainly looking up for Lianne, who once — briefly — was a backing vocalist for Paloma Faith while on tour.
She was also the recent support act for Alicia Keyes at MTV Crashes Manchester in front of 1,000 people on September 24.
This is quite the career development for the youngster who only signed for a major record label, Warner Bros. Records, two, short years ago.
Lianne’s star is set to shine for a very long time.
