East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure has welcomed social enterprise Greenhouse Community on board to run its two popular cafes.
The community interest company is serving up food and snacks at theatre and leisure facilities at Eastwood Park and Barrhead Foundry, while providing training opportunities for people with additional support needs.
The Greenhouse Community Cafe was established by Steven and Mandy Jacobs, of Newton Mearns, expressly to help people in the community develop skills and experience.
Steven said: “We want to improve the opportunities presented to individuals with additional needs in a controlled enterprise environment.
“Trainees can learn skills to gain future long-term employment and we welcome people from all ages and backgrounds.”
Anthony McReavy, East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, added:“We’re excited to welcome this community café on board to serve up delicious food as well as employment and training opportunities for those in our local area.”
