Tomorrow’s Older People is a Community Fund funded programme that aims to support everyone in East Renfrewshire to make happy connections.

Loneliness can affect anyone at any age, but as we get older it can be harder to make new friends.

Tomorrow’s Older People is hoping to change that and is promoting the message of happy connections wherever it can. By adopting local stations it aims to spread the word – and a little happiness. The commute to work doesn’t need to be drab.

Tomorrow’s Older People can brighten it up and create interesting conversation starters at local stations, including Giffnock, Thornliebank, Busby, Williamwood and Muirend.

Maria Hendry, from Tomorrow’s Older People, said: “Anyone is welcome to get on board. Joining in our station planting group is a great opportunity for people to get involved in their community, brighten up everyone’s day and get creative about growing new connections.”
