East Renfrewshire house prices dropped in July

House prices dropped in East Renfrewshire in July, according to the latest property sales figures.

But the drop does not reverse the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area achieve 4.1 per cent annual growth.

The average East Renfrewshire house price in July was £233,155, according to Land Registry figures. That’s a drop of 1.1 per cent compared to the average price in June.

In comparison, the average price for the whole of Scotland increased 0.7 per cent.

Over the last year, the average sale price of property in East Renfrewshire rose by £9,200 – putting the area seventh among Scotland’s 32 local authorities for annual growth.

Owners of semi-detached houses fared worst in East Renfrewshire in July. The value of their properties dropped 1.3 per cent in price, to £228,398 on average. But over the last year, prices have risen by 4.7 per cent.

The average price of a detatched property in East Renfrewshire is now £398,545, a terraced home £177,197 and a flat £128,745.
