Back in town

COME fly with Frank, Dean and Sammy this weekend as they arrive at the King’s Theatre for a spot of swing.

Alright, so we can’t claim that the original rat pack are back — but The Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular might just be the next best thing.

The tribute show is touring the UK, featuring all the songs you know and love — Come Fly With Me, Under My Skin, Mr Bojangles, Mack the Knife and more.

You may have heard everyone and their granny attempt these tunes, but few can do them justice (Robbie Williams, we’re looking at you).

And, with the big band sound showing something of a resurgence these days (who can escape Canadian crooner Michael Buble?), it’s fair to say that there’s a big market for the original and best songs as they should be performed.

So forget cover after cover from every pop star you can think of — the three leading men of this show are ready to take you back in time and across the pond to glittering Las Vegas, having practised their roles for some time now.

Wayne Kennedy — your Dean Martin for the night — started out solo in front of a small bar crowd in 2002.

The show snowballed, becoming a three-man gig at the request of a football fundraiser, and from there grew into a world touring production company.

Roman Marek (Sinatra) and Patrick Kumah (Davis Jnr) joined in 2006, and since then the trio have toured the globe with their sensational swing.

The Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular is in Glasgow for one night only — so grab tickets while you can.

Performances at 3pm and 7.30pm on Friday, February 1, at the King’s Theatre. Tickets £17-£21, from 0844 871 7648 or
