Aldi’s famous supermarket sweep is coming to Glasgow

As part of its 25th anniversary in Scotland celebrations, ALDI is offering one lucky Glasgow shopper the chance to take part in their very own ‘Supermarket Sweep’.

Guaranteed to be the most fun you can have while getting in the weekly shop, Glasgow residents should fill out an application form in the High Street store between Sunday, March 17 and Saturday, March 23 to be in with the chance of winning.

One lucky shopper will then be chosen to do a five-minute trolley dash in store and take home all the ALDI favourites they can grab in the time. On top of this, ALDI will donate the cash value of the trolley to a chosen local foodbank.

Richard Holloway, regional managing director for Scotland, said: “The famous ALDI supermarket sweep is now coming to Glasgow, giving one lucky shopper the chance to stock up on their favourite ALDI products while also raising money for their local foodbank.”

The High Street store has recently benefitted from ALDI’s £300 million national investment into improving stores and services across the UK. Part of this investment includes being the first Scottish store to have a bakery, offering Glasgow customers a selection of freshly baked goods.

Shoppers will be asked to nominate their chosen local foodbank when applying to take part. Entrants must be over 18 years old to take part and alcohol products are not included in the sweep.

Entry is free and applications are open from Sunday, March 17 until Saturday, March 23. A winner will be selected and invited to take part in the event at the High Street store before Sunday, April 7. Entrants must be available to take part in the sweep after 10pm on their chosen date.
