A peep at the past in 1961

This week we are returning to Pleasance Street and the year, 1961.

On the left the pram is on the cobbles at the east entrance to Pleasance Lane and the building on the left behind the hedge at this time was the second Pollokshaws police office.

The fire-blackened derelict building at the end of the row (numbers 31 to 37) was known as the Marble Arch, and the dairy and house above (numbers 39/41) belonged to John McDougall.

This print was taken from the entrance to the original tram depot at the junction of Coustonholm Road.
