East Renfrewshire Council is hosting an Early Years Open Day on Saturday, September 7, at Carlibar Primary School, Barrhead Road, between 10am and 1pm.

From August 2020, the Scottish Government is increasing the number of funded hours each child can get in Early Learning and Childcare from 600 hours to 1140 hours a year.

The increase in funded hours will be available to all three and four year olds and some two year olds.

This event allows residents the opportunity to receive advice and information on the additional choices that are now available, and find out more about where it can be used.

Staff from East Renfrewshire Council and all its funded providers, including nurseries and childminders, will be on hand to discuss each setting to allow parents and guardians to consider which option best suits the needs of their child and family.

The event is open to any parent or guardian who wants to learn more about what the increase of funded hours will mean for them.

A number of fun activities and refreshments will also be available on the day.
