Local eateries win at the Scottish Asian Food Awards 2019

Winners for the second Scottish Asian Food Awards 2019 have been revealed.

Giffnock’s Turban Tandoori scooped the Organisers Award for Outstanding Restaurant, and Julie’s Kopitiam on the Pollokshaws Road won Malaysian Restaurant of the Year.

The Award ceremony is the first of its kind and exists to recognise and reward a variety of Asian restaurants, takeaways and eateries across Scotland.

It recognises those who work their hardest to service the Asian food industry which is growing and diversifying each year. The event celebrated the achievements of businesses and individuals who connect communities through food and culture. Categories included Korean Restaurant of the Year, Asian Street Food of the Year and 5 Star Indian Restaurant of the Year, reflecting Scotland’s love for all kinds of Asian cuisine.

Interfaith Scotland were charity partners for the event in celebration of Scottish Interfaith Week 2019 ‘Eat Share Love’.

The Scottish Asian Food Awards 2019 were organised by Oceanic Consulting – the UK’s leading ethnic awards company.
