Newton Mearns high street is to welcome a new Scottish-owned business, with Fosters Family Funeral Directors set to open this Wednesday (August 14).
The funeral directors, which has been operating since 2005 and has 18 branches across Scotland, will open in the former Eric N Smith jewellers on Ayr Road - providing the local community with the highest level of customer care.
Fosters will be joined by East Renfrewshire Lord Provost Jim Fletcher, who will cut the ribbon to officially open the parlour to the local community.
Known for delivering bespoke, personalised services that represent great value, the new parlour will provide a boost to the local community by taking over the jewellers unit across from The Avenue shopping centre.
Also, with the firm renowned for using local suppliers, it is hoped that the business will bring further commerce to Newton Mearns.
A raffle will be held on the day, with a number of fantastic prizes - kindly donated by the local business community - to be won.
All money raised will be matched by Fosters and donated to East Renfrewshire Good Causes, a charity that helps local people in need.
Lorna Montgomery, branch manager for Fosters Family Funeral Directors, said: “Fosters is proud of the support and services it offers families in their time of need, so we’re looking forward to opening our doors here in Newton Mearns and introducing Fosters Family Funeral Directors to the local community.
“We are encouraging people to drop by and meet the team, find out more about the parlour, ask any questions they may have and see for themselves the high quality, low cost services we have to offer.”
The Newton Mearns grand opening takes place open on Wednesday, August 14 at 10am.
