Cluster of Covid-19 cases identified at Glasgow Southside pharmaceuticals business

A number of staff at a business in the Southside of Glasgow have tested positive for coronavirus.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Public Health Protection Unit is currently under taking contact tracing within the AAH Pharmaceuticals, which is based on Polmadie Road.

A small staff cluster has been confirmed.

Public Health teams have established a list of close contacts and Test and Protect staff are contacting those identified.

These close contacts are being advised to self-isolate and being given appropriate advice and support.

Robust control measures are in place within the business. Apart from those identified as close contacts, all other staff can continue to attend as normal.

NHSGGC says there is no risk to the wider community as a result of this cluster directly, or through the handling of medicines within the business.

To respect and maintain patient confidentiality, no further case details are being released.
