The aim of Purple Tuesday is to make customer-facing businesses more aware of the opportunities and challenges and inspire them to make changes to improve the disabled customer experience over the long term.

Michelle McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue said: ”We are delighted we are able to support this initiative on Tuesday, November 13. The accessibility to our centre and stores within the mall is extremely important to us and we have made incremental changes over the years including our daily Quiet Hour and introduction of ‘not every disability is visible’ signage.”

“In the run up to Purple Tuesday, we have also undertaken specific site assessments to identify any further aspects to improve the overall shopping experience at The Avenue.

“Purple Tuesday’s Customer Service Guide has given further training to Team Avenue staff in Centre Management, Security and Housekeeping to enhance the customer service we provide to those with accessibility issues.”
