Freshers Week is nearly upon us Glasgow - where thousands of students will descend upon the city, many for the first time, joining the massive community of Glaswegians across the city.
This week we spoke with Daniel Byron, the editor of Glasgow Caledonian University’s official magazine, The Edit, a fourth year journalism student who knows the lay of the land better than any other student at Caley.

9. How to get involved in student life at Caley
Freshers fair and other events are running on the Glasgow Caledonian Campus on Monday September 17 to Tuesday September 18, loads of different societies will have stalls - from Rugby to E-sports to Dungeons & Dragons to the GCU Choir. There’s a society for just about everyone, it’s a great chance to meet new people, and not to mention the free food.
10. Attend the Glasgow Caley Ceilidh
Or any other event really - don’t miss out on socials. They’re a great place to meet new people who’ll be your pal for the rest of uni and possibly even the rest of your life.
11. Where to find pals at Glasgow Caledonian University
Take just about every opportunity you can to socialise - everyone’s in the same position, so make the first move, head out to pubs, cafes, libraries and of course house parties whenever you get invited, expand your circle of friends and before you know it you’re living the uni lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of.

You’ll have a new-found appreciation for the modern architecture of Glasgow Caledonian University once you realise Justin Bieber lives in a £8.5m Beverly Hills mansion that looks strikingly similar.
