On Friday, April 20, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Wellmeadow Lodge on Meadow Way will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event.

The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a country-wide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Wellmeadow Lodge has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day.

With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include fun activities for all the family, including live music and traditional afternoon tea. Visitors will also have a chance to meet Wellmeadow Lodge’s friendly team.

Catherine Brannan, home manager at Wellmeadow Lodge, said: “We’ve already had a brilliant start to the year at Wellmeadow Lodge and our Care Home Open Day celebrations are set to be a real highlight. The day is all about enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the community, so what better excuse to invite the people of Glasgow to the home than to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.

“The residents are looking forward to decorating the home fit for a queen, and we cannot wait to open our doors for this royal celebration.”
