Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to eight East Renfrewshire establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of East Renfrewshire’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Pass: Brambles Catering at 22 Roddinghead Road, Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire; rated on February 8

• Pass: The Linn at 562 Clarkston Road, Netherlee, East Renfrewshire; rated on January 29

• Pass: Zyka at 3 Greenlaw Place, Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire; rated on January 23

• Pass: Cartvale Bar at 25 Main Street, Busby, East Renfrewshire; rated on October 30

Takeaways

And four ratings have been handed to takeaways:

• Pass: Charghas Fast Food at 26 Main Street, Barrhead, East Renfrewshire; rated on February 5

• Pass: Alpinos at 63 - 65 Cross Arthurlie Street, Barrhead, East Renfrewshire; rated on January 30

• Pass: Peter's Fish And Chips at 216 Carnwadric Road, Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire; rated on January 25
