Mearns Bowling club’s June Marshall made her international debut this weekend.
The bowler featured against Ireland in the British Isles senior women’s international series in Ward Park in Bangor.
She also played against England.
Scotland won three out of four matches, against Jersey, Ireland and England, before losing to Wales.
The title decider was a clash between Wales and England, Wales would have won the series with a draw or a loss but an England win meant Scotland retained the title.
Competitive bowling comes to Newton Mearns on Sunday (from 10am) when the Glasgow bowling association finals take place at Mearns bowling club.
Chairman Jack Addison told ExtraSport: “We are expecting more than 500 spectators so it should be quite the event.
“It is quite the honour that we have been chosen to host it”.
