shared cup for rivals

Pollok’s season kicked off with the inaugural Joseph S Marshall Trophy but when the dust settled all honours were shared as Pollok and Arthurlie played out a drab draw.

Despite Arthurlie having the better of the play in the first half, it was Pollok who came closest to the lead, new signing Colin Williamson’s cross being met by Davie Winters, who headed the ball off the post.

The closest Arthurlie came to scoring was in the 89th minute, but Connor McGlinchey’s header was cleared by Tam Hanlon.

So that meant the cup, and the Sectional League Cup points were shared.
