GHA snatched top spot of championship A with a seven try demolition of Dunfermline.
Rangi Jericevich (2), John Brogan, Grant MacDonald, Andy Henderson, Scott Lang and Ryan Jenkins scored the tries in a 47-13 win.
Head Coach Gordon MacPherson said: “Our attack play is good just as it was last year. I feel we have a better balance to our play this year.
“We are combining better in our attack. Last year we were relying on our backs a little bit more. But this year we have got a little bit more consistency with our forwards because we have a bigger pool to pick from.
“To score seven tries is really pleasing and to be the team who has the most bonus points it shows we are creating a number of opportunities from that aspect of the game it is really pleasing.”
GHA were able to take advantage of Cartha’s game with Dalziel being called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
Now GHA are two points ahead of their southside rivals, but the Dumbreck side have a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Whitecraigs made light work of West of Scotland with a 54- 10 win. Giant lock Ross McDonald scored first with Brandon Wamberg adding the second. Craigs went 20-3 ahead when Greg Haswell – returning from injury – touched down against his old club.
At half time, after try-scorer Wamberg was sent to the sin-bin, West had taken full advantage of their man advantage, scoring to bring the score to 20-9.
Garry Johnston, Stuart Pollock scored in quick succession after the half, at which point West had a man sent to the bin, lost their full back to injury and were 30-12 down. . Further tries by Grant McGibbon, Ian Laidlaw, Jonathan Tait and Biel Farrell made the final score 54-10.
