After the high of defeating Neilston 8-1 the previous Saturday, Pollok came crashing back to earth with two home defeats in the space of four days, writes Mark Donnelly.

On Wednesday night Petershill made the short journey down from Springburn to face the ‘Lok in the quarter-final of the Sectional League Cup. First half goals from Michael Daly and Stephen McGladrigan were enough to see the Peasy through to the semi-finals by virtue of a 2-1 scoreline, Allan MacKenzie with the Pollok counter.

The return to the Premier League kicked off in disappointing fashion with a 2-0 defeat by Troon.

Goals from Adam Forsyth and a free-kick from ex-Morton man Dean Keenan proved to be the home side’s undoing.

This Saturday sees Pollok continue on league business, making the trip to face their great rivals Arthurlie at Dunterlie Park, Barrhead with kick off at 2pm.
