Pollok push on after midweek double-header

Pollok’s efforts to regain top-flight status continued with a 1-1 draw at Yoker Athletic last Wednesday, and a 2-0 win at Kilsyth Rangers on Saturday,

At Yoker, Jamie Darroch gave ‘Lok a 50th minute lead, whilst Davie Winters missed a penalty.

In the 79th minute, a Greg Maitland free-kick netted Yoker a share of the points.

On Saturday, Kieran McAleenan gave Pollok a 31st minute lead, side-footing home at the back post after a John Sweeney throw-in.

Goalkeeper Jordan Longmuir kept ‘Lok ahead,saving a Joe Barclay penalty midway through the second half.

Tam Hanlon ensured all three points returned to the southside with a spectacular 88th minute chip.

This S aturday, Pollok travel to Shettleston on West of Scotland Cup duty with a 2pm kick off.

Then, a midweek double-header, away to Cumbernauld United on Monday, and home to Largs Thistle on Wednesday. Kick off for the midweek games is 7pm.
