WHITECRAIGS can kiss goodbye to their hopes of an undefeated season.

After their title winning heroics last week, the West Lodge side took their foot off the gas against Dumfries Saints, losing 41-27.

Their loss came thanks to an unorganised performance, but despite a hat-trick from giant lock Ross Macdonald.

Even though Craigs outscored Dumfries by five tries to four, Whitecraigs’ indiscipline meant their penalty count undid them.

Craigs will hope to return to winning ways on Saturday when they welcome basement boys Dunfermline to West Lodge on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Meanwhile, GHA’S most talented youngsters can now add a clean sweep over England to their glittering CV’s.

After Rory Hughes and Adam Barnett’s involvement in the U18’s win against England, club mate Josh Rutnagur was involved in Sunday’s u17 30-10 win against their English counterparts.

The Hutchesons’ Grammar School pupil will now travel to Berkshire (as will team mate James Malcolm) to participate in the Wellington Festival, which takes place from April 16-22.

In Scotland under 18 action, winger Hughes and second row Barnett leave today for Tarbes, France to play in the FIRA/AER competition where their first game will be against Romania next Saturday.

Both came off the bench during Sunday’s 45-29 loss to Wales this weekend.

Back at Braidholm, on Sunday, Hutchesons’ Grammar School defeated GHA u18s 27-25 following a last minute penalty in front of the posts.
