Pollok ensured their name entered the hat for the third round draw of the Scottish Junior Cup after a 3-1 victory over Yoker Athletic at Newlandsfield Park last weekend.

The scoring was opened in the 20th minute after referee Calum Scott adjudged that Robbie Winters had been impeded in the Whe Ho penalty area. Tam Hanlon netted the resulting spot-kick with aplomb.

Pollok doubled their lead in the 63rd minute, John Sweeney’s corner to the back post being headed back into the danger zone by Paul Gallacher where Winters nodded home from six yards.

Yoker reduced the deficit in the 77th minut ewhen David Crerand coolly slotted underneath Longmuir.

The visitors were dealt a blow in the 83rd minute when player-manager Steven Reilly was ordered to the pavilion after his second booking in as many minutes.

It was 3-1 when Chris Walker’s diving header after a cross by Winters gave Campbell no chance.
