Pollok safe and sound

A PLAYOFF victory for Lok ensured Stagecoach super premier league survival for next season.

The Newlandsfield side achieved a 5-1 aggregate victory with a 1-1 draw away in the second leg and a 4-0 win in the first leg.

In a tense first half of the second leg, Lok defended well and neither side could find the net.

Pollok found the lead in the 56th minute when Fraser Campbell scored an own goal that essentially sealed his own team’s relegation fate.

Renfrew made a dent in Lok’s five goal cushion on the 63nd minute when Anthon Heffron headed past Morrisson, but it was too little, too late.

It was a happy end to a disappointing league campaign for Lok, and survival does not hide the fact that boss John Richardson has a rebuilding project on his hands for next season.
