New kit for new year

Celtic and Scotland international, Rhonda Jones made the day of the girls at Giffnock soccer centre when she handed over brand new kit to the entire squad.

Jones, the recently named international player of the year at the Scottish Women’s Football Awards, visited the team at Williamwood High School, Glasgow to hand over the kit as part of Scotland team sponsor, Vauxhall’s, Youth Programme initiative.

Scotland defender, Rhonda, said; “It is great to see a local girl’s set up enjoying their football and I am delighted to handover the new Vauxhall kit to the team.”

“It is vital that we support girl’s football in Scotland for the good of the game moving forward — this is a fantastic initiative and one I am proud to support.”

Roddy McAlister, head of people and organisation, Peter Vardy said, “Supplying Giffnock Soccer Centre girl’s squad with a brand new kit is just the starting point to an exciting partnership with them.”

Any girls who may be interested in joining Giffnock’s Girls’ section should contact the club on giffnocksoccercentre@yahoo.co.uk.
