Greaves struggle
GREAVES Clydesdale gave a poor performance on Sunday, going down by four wickets to Forfarshire at Broughty ferry.
Clydesdale were all out for 217 in 48 overs with the team's professional Kamran Sajid contributing 67 – the second week in a row he has broken 60.
He was supported by Greg Williamson who made 43 but the total was short of what would be needed without a very good bowling performance.
However the bowling was less than average with none of Clydesdale's bowlers making an impact and Forfarshire won with eight bowls to spare and six wickets in hand.
This week Clydesdale plays hosts to the first two of six international matches it will host over the next six weeks.
The first fixture was yesterday, while tomorrow's game anticipates a crowd of more than 500 with The Golden Lions, the British Army parachute team, dropping in with the match balls.
NVT Pollok were also in action at the weekend, being beaten by Ayr at Cambusdoon.
The margin of defeat was 95 runs after Ayr racked up 311 for three wickets against the Pollok youngsters.
In reply Pollok made 216 all out with South African amateur Carl Huyser scoring 59, and well supported by Stuart Millen who made 42.
