GIFFNOCK North runner Jill Smylie successfully defended her title at the Calderglen 10k women’s race.
her team’s haul from the race was an impressive three golds, three silvers and one bronze. Hilary Milar and Sue Anderson came in second in their age catagories while Maureen McVey pipped Anne Lee for third veteran.
The men couldn’t replicate the success of their female counterparts, winning no prizes.
However David McNab was first home for the club, closely followed by James O’Hagen and Martin Myant.
Before the main event of the 10k, there were junior races. There, in the 1k race, Clare Wallace won gold while Erin Wallace took home the 3k crown.
In the 5k, Andrew Clark came sixth overall (second junior male).
