Glasgow City win the right to face Euro elite

GLASGOW City reached the knock-out round of the last 32 of the Champions League after a 2-0 win over Dutch Champions FC Twente to top group 8.

Head coach Eddie Wolecki Black said: “A big congratulations to all the players and staff. We knew this was going to be a very tough campaign and I think we showed a real Scottish determination to get the right result.

Meanwhile, Queen’s Park have signed Airdrieonians player Ricki Lamie on loan until January 2014. The 20-year-old is a defender.

The Spiders have also signed Threave Rovers midfielder James Baty.

The Hampden side fell 3-1 to East Stirlingshire on Saturday. QP face Berwick Rangers on Saturday at 3pm at Shielfield Park.

On Monday, Pollok defeated Benburb 5-0 in the Euroscot engineering sectional league cup.

On Saturday, the Newlandsfield side visit Holm Park to face Clydebank in league action at 2pm.
