Paul Tyler will be searching for the stars of the future after being appointed director of youth rugby at GHA.

In his new role, he will will take charge of 20 of the club’s most talented young players between the ages of 15 to 21.

The club hopes the academy will help add to the long list of GHA alumni who have gone on to professional careers, such as Jon Welsh, Euan Murray and Callum Forrester.

Paul told ExtraSport: “The academy is the most exciting project I have ever been involved in. The opportunity to work with the most talented young players and help them to achieve their ambitions gives me a buzz.

“The academy will give them the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a professional athlete.

“We will be using specialist coaches to nurture the players and help them to fulfil their potential”.

In recent seasons, GHA has seen a number of promising players coming through the ranks with the likes of Adam Barnett, James Malcolm and Rory Hughes playing international age grade rugby.

GHA’s first pre-season game is against Biggar at home this Saturday. Kick off 3pm.
