IT WAS another good day at the office for Spiders as they sailed past Irvine Meadow in the Scottish Cup.
After a bit of a slow start, after the break Queen’s Park came into their own with a trio of strikes to win the tie 3-0.
Longworth scored from the spot in the 62nd minute after young Shankland was brought down in the box by Meadow’s skipper.
Shankland then turned scorer a minute later after picking up a Quinn pass and hitting a low shot past Meadow keeper Wardrope.
QP’s third goal came when Davie Anderson’s 20-yard shot was parried by Wardrope but only as far as Quinn who smashed the ball into the net in the 67th minute.
This put the game hopelessly beyond Meadow and sent the Spiders into the third round.
