Euro draw for Glasgow City

Glasgow City will continue their European adventure against Icelandic champions Valur Reykjavík A 5-0 victory for the ladies against Faroe Islands side Klaksvik in Serbia, ensured that City topped Group five with three wins out of three.

In doing so, the Glasgow team became the first Scottish team ever to reach the last 32 of Europe’s most elite club competition.

city also defeated Serbian side Spartak Jaffa 4-0 and Maltese side Mosta 8-0 in the group.

Southsider Kat Lindner was awarded player of the group and Claire Johnstone was named keeper of the group by UEFA.

Head coach, Eddie Wolecki Black said: “We are now amongst the very best sides in Europe, and we may even be the only completely amateur team still in the competition.

“We will need to be at our very, very best”.

City will play their home match first on the evening of Thursday September 29 at Petershill Park.
