Queen’s Park will be playing in Division 3 again next season after a disappointing play-off loss against Albion Rovers.
The spiders went down 2-0 away in Coatbridge on Saturday, thanks to a brace from former Queen’s striker John Gemmel.
This followed a 1-1 draw at home on Wednesday, which means that after finishing third, QP are resigned to another season in division three.
Manager Garden Speirs said: “The players put in a magnificent effort in the second half of the season to rack up the results needed to get us into the play-offs.
“But even when things were not going their way in the first part of the campaign, they couldn’t be faulted for their attitude”.
To round off a disappointing weekend, the Under 17s lost 3-2 to Livingston in the Final of the SFL League Cup.
some good news did come when the club put pen to paper with 17 of the first team squad for next season.
Mr Speirs added: “Hopefully, we’ll hit the ground running next time round - and signing this many players so early can’t do anything but help the cause.
“We’ll be trying to add a few more names to the squad. We have been looking at some players - and have identified some possibilities”.
