YOUNG startlet Megan Mason is hoping she can fulfill her promise next season.

The 16-year-old has been promoted to Glasgow City’s first team squad for the upcoming campaign, as the club look to add more trophies to its collection.

The striker told ExtraSport: “To be promoted to the first team is unbelievable and I cannot wait to get started and to play and train alongside such great players.

“I am very excited about what the future may hold.”

Glasgow City head of youth Amy McDonald added: “It shows that with hard work and dedication, along with a lot of talent, there can be opportunities at the very highest level for players at this club.

“Not many 16-year-olds have the chance to head to Germany at the end of January and compete in a tournament with some of the very best teams and players in Europe, and that is now what is in front for Megan.

“Our club does not have a history of simply throwing young players into the first team for the sake of it.”
