Blame it on the weather

POLLOK and Queen’s Park will both hope to be back in action this weekend.

The snow caused fixture chaos across the sporting calendar last Saturday and the pair of local sides were no different.

Pollok’s clash versus Largs fell victim to the weather so the Newlandsfield side’s fixture against Dunnipace will follow a two week layoff.

The Euroscot Engineering central league cup second round match will take place in Westfield Park, Denny, at 2pm.

Queen’s Park are in league action this week. Their division three clash versus Elgin City take place on Saturday (tomorrow) at 3pm.

Last week’s postponed match against Annan will now be played at Galabank on Tuesday, April 9, with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, Eastwood Juveniles football club are currently looking for new players and a goalkeeper for their 2004 team.

They currently play in the Ersda league sevens on Saturday at Woodfarm and train at Mearns Castle high school on Wednesdays from 6.30pm.
