THE Glitter Bombs Dance and Cheer group are celebrating after two wins at the Pride of Scotland Scotcheer competition last weekend.

The two cheerleading teams (ages 10-25) are made up of Kirkhill primary, Mearns Castle high and St Ninian’s high pupils, led by Newton Mearns coach Ainsley Ballantyne.

The Glitter Bombs may only have been formed in July last year, but their trip to Dundee was a roaring success, with first place prizes in senior all girl stunt group level three and and senior coed stunt group level three.

Ainsley told The Extra: “Both of our fantastic stunt teams won championship titles — our cheerleaders performed outstandingly, especially for their first competition.

“The team can’t wait to compete again!”
