GHA kicked off their pre-season against Falkirk, losing 21-14 against the premier two side.

New signings Andrew Henderson and Hefin O’Hare made their first appearance, with winger O’Hare scoring his first try almost immediately.

However the former Warrior pair could not prevent Falkirk from bullying the young GHA pack and securing the win.

The Braidholm side are set to host Ardrossan on Saturday.

Cartha continue their preparations for the new season against GHK at old Anniesland on Friday. The Dumbreck side began their pre-season with a trip to Inverness where they defeated Highland 45-32.

Last week, Cartha were involved in a training match against Uddingston.

The club have secured Ayr full-back Johnny Manning for the new season, but club president Tom Feasby admits it has been a struggle adding new players.

Mr Feasby said: “The changes to premier three this season where there will be no promotion or relegation has undoubtedly made it more difficult to recruit players.

“However numbers have been good at training and we are confident we have a good team, with very strong forwards in particular”.

Whitecraigs found things difficult against Stirling County, when the premier one side defeated the southsiders 46-10.

Craigs will have another premier one test when they face Ayr on Saturday.
