ICY weather has put the skids on most southside football, however Queen's Park grabbed a cool three points in their last outing before the weather took over.

The Spiders used Hampden's undersoil heating to ensure they'd face basement club Montrose the heating costs were worthwhile with a win.

David Murray's 84th minute strike proved decisive as a late brace from the Gable Endies cancelled out Martin McBride's double that had given Queen's a comfortable lead.

The win moved Gardener Speirs' men up to 19points in the league, three points clear of Stranraer in eighth.

The weather put paid to subsequent games with Forfar and former Spider Paul Martin's Albion Rovers, and looks set to win again this weekend.

If the game does go ahead, with second-placed East Stirlingshire, it's at Ochilview with a 3pm kick-off.
