HUTCHIE'S under-15 rugby squad heads to Murrayfield next Thursday after Saturday's 10-7 semi final victory over last year's finalists, George Watson's.
Stuart Lang, director of sport at Hutchesons' and a Giffnock resident, told ExtraSport: "We've been in the semi final of the (Brewin Dolphin) under-15 Scottish schools cup five times and have never got beyond it".
Newton Mearns resident Gordon White, father of Ben White, a member of the squad, was equally delighted.
He said: "The remarkable scenes at full time (at Auldhouse) will surely live with these young men for the rest of their lives.
"It's just reward for the commitment, effort and superb team work shown on the field".
In their route to the final, the Hutchie boys also beat Marr College, Bearsden/Douglas Academies, and Peebles High School.
The squad take on Stewart's Melville College in Thursday's u-15 final (kick off 6 pm), with both teams going all out for victory. More than 5,000 enthusiastic spectators created a fantastic atmosphere at the 2009 final.
