BRYAN Dingwall's hat trick in the 5-1 defeat of Benburb made him the first Pollok player to score back-to-back hat tricks since John O'Brien scored three in three games 19 years ago.
He will attempt to match the feat when Lok host league leaders Glenafton Athletic at Newlandsfield on Saturday.

But his second trio in as many weeks helped Lok advance to round three of the New Coin Automatics West of Scotland Cup at Tinto Park.

Bens' Andy Sinclair rattled the crossbar early on, but the visitors made the breakthrough after 14 minutes. Calum Hardie sent over a low cross from the right that Waddell dummied, and Dingwall stroked home from eight yards out.

He made it two in freak circumstances 12 minutes later when his cross sailed over Joe Ghattas into the net.

The hat trick, and second step to history was complete just after half an hour when he hammered home from a yard out.

Hardie struck the outside of the post for Pollok before the hosts pulled a goal back in the 38th minute through John Boyle. Lok struck the woodwork again on the stroke of half-time when Dingwall hit the post from a tight angle.

Andy McClay curled an exquisite effort in off the crossbar and Mike Ritchie slammed Dingwall's cross into his own net. Cruickshank sliced an effort wide and Turnbull missed with another free kick as Pollok failed to add to their tally.

Next week Lok host Glenafton with a 2pm kick off.

* NEWLANDSFIELD will also be busy the following day when a Pollok Legends team take on an SPL Select to mark the club's centenary. Stars of the 1981, 1985 and 1997 Junior Cup wins will be on show, as will the likes of Tom Boyd, Billy Dodds, Andy Walker, Gordon Durie and Darren Jackson. Kick off is at 1pm, with prices £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.
