The Yorkhill Bear needs a name, and fundraisers are being asked to make suggestions along with a donation.

YORKHILL Children’s Foundation has launched a fundraising initiative with a difference.

Those who wish to donate to the westend charity can do so by suggesting a name for its mascot – the much-loved bear which appears on all its posters.

Entrants are asked to text their name of choice throughout the month, and the best suggestion will be unveiled during Yorkhill Week, starting on September 17, at a special event in Hamley’s toy shop – where a special prize will also be provided for the winner.

Texts cost £3 plus the standard network charge, and 100 per cent of the cost goes to the charity, which provides cash for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Yorkhill.

To enter, text Yorkhill, followed by your chosen name to 70003.
