HOMEOWNERS will benefit from an extra £3million after Holyrood announced the extra funding following the freezing winter.
Nearly 6,000 households across the Scotland will benefit from a range of help to winterproof their homes.
Up to 2,500 households will receive £400 towards the cost of a new boiler thanks to a £1 million boiler scrappage scheme which started on February 1. And more free central heating systems will be available for low-income homeowners who contact the Scottish Government’s Home Energy Scotland Hotline on 0800 512 012.
East Renfrewshire environment convener Eddie Phillips said: “The decision to extend the boiler scrappage scheme will be a great opportunity for many households.’
