Window to the Past: Shawbridge Street 1955

Memories of Pollokshaws.
Memories of Pollokshaws.

United Original Secession Church in Shawholm Street saw children’s on their Sunday school trip being transported on the Black & White Whisky Company’s horse drawn carts to Sheep Park for games and treats.

Note the woman on the left taking another photo and the horse on the right being fed a tit-bit.

This is Shawbridge Street because Shawholm Street would have been too narrow to accommodate the carts and the subsequent crowd.
